Kids on vacation, holiday parties and gatherings, writing Christmas cards, making lists, buying presents, wrapping presents, mailing presents, and oh yeah, your day job. Any of this sound familiar? The end of the year can pose a lot of stress and added “to-do’s” on the list, and let’s face it, there’s only so much time in the day! In order to make room for the extra activities something has gotta go, and it typically is your wellbeing; throwing us off our normal routines cause for reducing how much time we spend on ourselves, including: not being active, less sleep and out-of-habit (or bad habit) eating practices.
Before you get to that first thing on your list, let me ask you this – when are you the best version of you? When you are around certain people? When you are challenged? When you have your wellness (eating, activity, sleep, hygiene) in check? Most likely, when you are at your best you look great, feel great and are generally happy. When you are the best version of you, most likely your friends and family are happy too, not to mention your overall disposition is something others can look up to and strive for.
So when the going gets tough, remember that being strong may not only benefit you, but the others around you. Keep your wellness on your list and remind yourself to be your best version of you everyday.
